The Gather House is Africa’s first concept store dedicated exclusively to women led brands from the continent. Based in Lagos Nigeria our space blends a curated retail experience, a cozy café, and a multipurpose event venue. All with the mission to amplify women’s voices and increase their economic access across Africa.

Role Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled grant writer to join our team and help scale our impact. This person will be responsible for identifying grant opportunities, developing proposals, and submitting successful applications that align with The Gather House’s mission and growth goals. The individual will focus on ensuring successful fundraising efforts through meticulous research and well-crafted proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify relevant local regional and international grant opportunities
• draft, right, and submit high-quality grant applications, proposals and letters of intent
• Maintain a grant calendar and meet all application and reporting deadlines
• Work closely with leadership to understand funding priorities and develop project narratives
• Keep up-to-date with trends and developments in the Not profit and social enterprise funding space
• Track submitted applications and provide regular progress update

Qualifications

• Grant Writing and Proposal Writing skills
• Grant Administration and Prospect Research experience
• Fundraising experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Experience in the nonprofit sector is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or related field

Compensation and structure

• monthly stipend to cover data and support effort
• 5% commission on every successful grant secured
• Fully remote role part time 3 to 4 days per week
• Flexible hours with some check-in meetings as needed
